Calculation methods and location data
North Indian layout with whole-sign houses: the ascendant’s sign is house 1, followed by the remaining signs in zodiac order. Positions use Astronomy Engine, a Lahiri ayanamsa with consistent nutation correction for sidereal charts, and mean lunar nodes. The implementation was compared with Swiss Ephemeris on 646 historical test charts: maximum planetary difference under 16 arcseconds and ascendant difference under 1 arcsecond in that sample. These are test results, not guaranteed error bounds. Confirm placements near sign boundaries with a precision ephemeris.
Birthplace lookup runs on this website using a bundled GeoNames city dataset, licensed under CC BY 4.0. Search covers major cities; manual coordinates are available for other places. Historical time-zone rules come from your browser’s IANA data and may be less reliable for older dates. Dates: 1900–2100. Latitudes: between 66° south and 66° north. No birth details are sent to an external service.
